Safe and Appropriate Environments

The following policy and procedure resources relate to the Safe and Appropriate Environment section within the New Zealand Standards (8134.1.4 2008) Health and Disability Service (Core) Standards. The intended outcome of this section of the Standards is that services are provided in a clean, safe environment that is appropriate to the needs of the service user, and that physical privacy is maintained.  In addition the Standards are in place to ensure that the service has adequate space and amenities to facilitate independence, are in a setting appropriate to the service user group, and meet the needs of people with disabilities.
